"ja": "（表）\n桑名空襲慰霊之碑\n\n桑名市長 水谷 元 書\n\n（裏）\n桑名空襲のすがた\n\n太平洋戦争が終結する昭和二十年（一九四五年）七月十七日未明米軍機B29 爆撃機九四機が桑名に来襲し、焼夷弾十数万発を投下した。市民の逃げ惑う様子はさながら阿鼻叫喚の生き地獄であった。\n さらに七月二十四日の白昼B29 爆撃機が1トン爆弾八一八発を投下し、これにより多くの尊い命が奪われた。（面積当りの爆段投下量は七一一トンで全国一であった）。\n この空襲の悲惨さを後世に残すと共に二度とあってはならない戦争の恐ろしさを永きに亘り語り継ぐとして、爆撃を受けた貝塚公園に碑を建立する。\n 罹災状況 \n罹災地面積 六九一、二〇〇坪\n罹災地戸数 六、八三五戸\n罹災者数 二八、四四七人\n死亡者（身元不明者含む）\n 六五七人\n 平成十年（一九九八年）七月建立"
